It's been too long since I faced you alone
And so many times I've turned myself over
Wanting to find where I belong
I know I said I'd change
In your eyes I see the rejection
I've tried so hard to hide inside
But I can't seem to escape my reflection
So I

Dream
That you won't stare unspoken
Believe me I need you to find
All the places where I'm not broken
And if I dream
I want to see through the other side
Make you happy for a while
If I dream
Find my shadow is talking to no one

I see a little girl playing with the mirror
See her dance around in circles
Until she can't be much clearer
Oh I know I've blamed
I know I wanted a rescue
But how the picture spins in colors
Makes me just want to

Dream

I like the concept and the structure you gave this poem, but I also think it would benefit from a revision that includes tangible images to anchor the piece in between the abstracts. With your gift of description and lyrical expression, this piece could really be elevated. You have the "big" idea in place, now you just need to give your reader an image to hold onto.
